Around 1420, three bells were cast by John Kyrcham
of Christ Church. For centuries the bells have rung-out
the Old Year and rung-in the New while Dubliners gathered
to celebrate. Although the tower has sometimes been
damaged and the contents with it, and at other times
the old bells were deliberately melted, we ring to this
day, in peal, the bells cast in 1738, 1845, and 1878.
These are the beautiful Christ Church Bells. This is
the voice of Dublin.
