Always Needed!
This is a wonderful opportunity to serve the cathedral we love, to be
the welcoming face of Christ's Church to the thousands of visitors, many
of whom are looking for a dimension beyond the architectural.The good news is that the cathedral's ministry extends to a greater number of worshippers and visitors every year. Congregations are growing particularly on Sundays but also, notably, at the weekday services of Choral Evensong.
The Friends' Committee responded in a number of ways:
- Providing volunteers to staff the welcome desk
- Continuing to run a successful cathedral shop.
- Asking volunteers to act as Sidespersons to encourage visitors to stay for Choral Evensong or the Sung Eucharist.
- Organising Sunday Morning Coffee & tea in the crypt after the Sung Eucharist.
